We held our bariatric surgery support group meeting on in the Conference Room at Campbelltown Private Hospital, just down the corridor from our Campbelltown consulting rooms. It was a great turnout to hear from plastic surgeon Dr Michael Kernohan.
Dr Kernohan and members of his team delivered an informative presentation covering key topics for patients considering excess skin removal after major weight loss, including:
- The most common excess skin removal surgeries after large amounts of weight loss.
- The different types of abdominoplasties (tummy tucks).
- Before‑and‑after photos.
- When, and how long after weight loss surgery, you can have excess skin removal.
- Risks and complications of surgery.
- Length of hospital stay.
- Recovery after excess skin removal surgery.
Thank you to Dr Kernohan and his team for donating their time to educate us about the options for excess skin removal after weight loss surgery.

As always, we enjoyed tea and coffee and shared a fruit platter. We had BN samples for attendees to take home to try, and of course our lucky door prize, with three lucky winners.
We look forward to seeing you at our next support group meeting in October.
